These full length authentically made breastplates are made by a Cherokee relative of Johnny Chattin to Johnny's specifications. They are handcrafted using authentic materials. These are not made of brittle bone purchased overseas, but are made of hard tough river cane. The river cane was locally collected and carefully cured to its maximum hardness. This is the way that these breastplates were originally made. River cane was used to stop arrows. Bone is for decoration being too brittle to stop most arrows. If you have ever tried to cut a piece of cured river cane with a knife you will appreciate how tough and hard it is. Many a knife has been broken trying to cut river cane. The beadwork designs on these breastplates are original and no two are exactly alike. Each one comes with a signed, sealed, trademarked, and numbered certificate of authenticity. These make wonderfully decorative wall hangings. This is the same style breastplate made by the same member of the tribe as the one that Johnny wears in all his performances. Because each breastplate is individually handcrafted it usually ships 7 to 15 business days after ordering. It ships via UPS ground. Alaska and Hawaii require air. We will notify you by e-mail when your breastplate ships. Insurance is required. We only ship to the United States. Allow 2 to 8 days for delivery after shipping.
