This classic Appalachian Oval Style Mountain Dulcimer has a beautiful folk voice that is true to the early sounding dulcimers. This original design masterpiece from Dahlonega Dulcimers is hand crafted by Tim Wilson. It has a very unique sound hole design. The round sound holes have been inlaid with a laser cut Celtic knot design giving it an antique look. This is a real work of art. The finish is multiple coats of hand rubbed shellac giving it a beautiful luster that is reminiscent of priceless antiques. This dulcimer is available in cherry and optionally in walnut Tim uses only solid wood in his dulcimers. The scroll head is crafted out of three pieces of wood with the center piece being oak. This creates a nice highlight of color for the scroll head which has geared tuning pins. The dulcimer is 30 inches long, 7 inches wide and the box is 1-1/2 inches deep. The fret board is 22 inches long. Tuning is D-A-D.
