This beautifully unique teardrop dulcimer has a slightly primitive, but highly crafted design. It has a mix of oak, cherry, walnut and purple heart, a South American hardwood. It has a bridged 24 inch by 1 1/8 inch fretboard with additional 6 1/2 and 13 1/2 frets. This one is 28 1/2 inches overall and has a 1 1/2 inch thick body.The top is walnut. The fretboard is purple heart. The head, and sides have contrasting colors of wood. This dulcimer will not only play well, it sounds great, and it looks like a masterpiece. This is another heirloom quality instrument by Dahlonega Dulcumers craftsman, Tim Wilson. This is a three string dulcimer with a distinctly folk voice. This would make a wonderful dulcimer for a performer who wants a beautiful instrument. It is also compact and travels well. It comes in popular tunings including DAD. The finish is multiple coats of hand rubbed shellac topped with a fine-grade carnuba wax giving it a beautiful luster that is reminiscent of priceless antiques. Tim uses only solid wood in his dulcimers. The measurements may vary slightly on each custom crafted dulcimer.
Note: The dulcimer pictured is a one of a kind. It has been sold. But because of demand Tim is making this into a regular model. However each one willl be slightly different in that each will have a different mixture of woods and sound hole design so that everyone can have a one of a kind dulcimer. Allow two to three weeks lead time for this dulcimer because of very high demand.

Shipping is by UPS ground. Insurance is required. The buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance and handling charges. This item is shipped to the United States only. Alaska and Hawaii require additional freight for air. Call for other locations. Our dulcimers usually ship within 2 to 10 business days depending on the options that you choose and the number of current orders. Each instrument is individually handcrafted, and if demand is high for the model that you choose it may take a few days longer. We will e-mail you with the shipping date and tracking number.
There is a one year manufacturer's warranty on this dulcimer which covers materials and workmanship. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
